Security Officer - San Jose, CA
We are looking for a reliable, professional Security Officer to protect a premier venue in San Jose, CA, and ensure the safety of its guests, staff, and property. The Security Officer will patrol the premises, monitor surveillance systems, oversee guest and vendor access, and respond calmly and effectively to emergencies.
To be successful as a Security Officer, you should be observant, level-headed, and committed to a high standard of professionalism and guest service. Outstanding candidates carry themselves with composure under pressure and represent our company with integrity at all times.
Security Officer Responsibilities:
- Conducting interior and exterior foot patrols across multiple building levels.
- Monitoring CCTV, escalators, and elevators from a command position.
- Providing guest, vendor, and visitor assistance and oversight.
- Supervising loading zones during group arrivals and departures.
- Managing loading dock access and incoming deliveries.
- Providing escort services as needed.
- Writing clear, accurate incident and activity reports.
- Responding to medical, safety, and emergency situations with composure.
- Maintaining a professional, approachable presence as part of the guest experience.
Security Officer Requirements:
- Valid California Guard Card (BSIS registration) required.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain before placement.
- Proficiency in report writing.
- Computer literacy, including basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Professional appearance; adherence to uniform standards
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable in a guest-service-forward environment.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet California BSIS licensing requirements.
Schedule and Availability:
This is a 24/7 post with continuous coverage, and we are staffing all shifts — day, swing, and overnight. Full-time, part-time, and event-based positions are available. Open availability, including weekends and holidays, is strongly preferred, and officers who can flex across shifts will have access to the most hours.
